Toys 'R Us green tag sale
From CAGwiki
Until 2006, Toys 'R Us had a yearly clearance sale called the Green Tag Sale. Clearance merchandise, including videogames, were marked with green price stickers. Periodically, every item with a green tag would have an additional percentage discount. The sale was similar to liquidation sales, starting at 20% off and eventually reaching 90% off.
In 2006, Toys 'R Us was bought and changed the nature of the Green Tag Sale. Instead of green tags, clearance tags were colored red. Also, items dropped price automatically and were not subject to an additional percentage off. In October 2006, a coupon was issued for 20% off red tag items. Some stores did not require the coupon and automatically took 20% off red tag items.
