Tradelist guide

From CAGwiki

Jump to: navigation, search

A tradelist is a thread created by a CAG member in the CAG Trading Forum in which to list items for sale or for trade with other CAG members. Often, a tradelist will include a want list, which indicate items that the creator of the tradelist is seeking.

Any questions or concerns regarding the following guidelines or trading in general may be fielded to a Moderator via PM.

  1. You must be a registered member for 30 days before posting a new thread to this forum. Before then, the system will redirect you to an access denied page if you try to create a new thread.
  2. No multiple tradelists. One topic per user. If you want to start a new topic, that is fine but let the other drop. There's no need for "single purpose TL's". If there are new things FT/FS/WTB, please add them to the existing TL. Repeated violation of this rule will result in loss of Trading Forum privileges.
  3. Your topic title needs to be informative, explaining what is in the thread for sale, trade, and/or buy. Make it a quick summary, and go into detail in the OP of the thread. For ideas of how this should be, please look at topics in the deals section.
  4. No thread crapping in TL's. If someone has a question or concern about pricing in a TL, please take it directly to the OP of the TL via PM. Thread crapping, as well as insult posts, will be looked at seriously. If you do not like someone's prices, don't comment.
  5. Keep unnecessary bumps to a minimum. Make posts in a TL related to the TL in question, such as "PM sent" or an offer for something in the TL. Do not carry on OT topics in TL's: that is what the OT forum is for. This will help keep bumping down to only bumps by the OP and posts related to the TL.
  6. No false advertising in trade topics, no "goofy" thread titles, and no porn pics/links in threads. It is hard to see what is in there, and the "catch phrases" are more distracting than anything.
  7. The following items are not for sale, trade or purchase on CAG:
    • Modded consoles and console mods of any type.
    • Software such as HDLoader, HDAdvance and the like, due to the possible illegal uses that such applications can be used for.
    • Freeloaders, or any other software that allows for the playing of import games, which is beyond the scope of the functionality of the console.
    • Flash carts for systems (GBA, etc....) / flash-based "backup" devices . These can be used to make illegal copies of cartridges.
    • Burned/backup copies/illegal copies of games, which include CD, DVD and cartridge-based media. This is not up for discussion.
    • MP3 players with MP3's preloaded. Unless original copies of the CD's containing the MP3's are included with the MP3 player, all MP3's must be removed from the MP3 player before sale. If the MP3's were purchased directly from a online store, they're normally attached to the person buying the songs, not the device. Obviously, this might vary for the online service in question, though it's more likely than not that it's attached to the person and not the device.
    • Coupons. There is no way to verify if coupons have or haven't been used. They can be given out for free, though they can't be sold. EB Reservation Reward coupons are especially on the forbidden list.
    • Pornography (including hentai), or any other items that have age-restrictions, such as cigarettes or alcohol. There are users under the age of 18 on CAG, so this can't be allowed. This is not up for discussion.
    • Betas for games. Most TOS's/EULA's for the beta say that the beta discs can't be sold/given away, during the beta or after the beta has expired. It depends on the terms of the EULA/TOS for the beta, though if planning to sell or trade them on CAG, please provide a copy of the EULA/TOS that explains if it can be sold. Without that proof, betas cannot be sold.
    • Stolen merchandise. This is not up for discussion.
  8. Contact CheapyD or a Moderator if you are unsure whether an item can be sold or traded on CAG.
  9. Not meeting the above guidelines risks deletion of TL.
