Trader ratings

The CAG Trader Ratings are designed for users to easily leave feedback after completing a transaction with a fellow CAG member.

The Trader Rating system is the only "official" rating system here, chronicling how many times (and how effectively) a user has completed a transaction on CAG. You can see someone's rating by checking their Profile screen, looking under their username next to any post they make (if they have received any ratings), or heading over to the main CAG Trader Ratings Page. Links to this page are also present on the Forum Index, as well as at the top of the Cheap Ass Trading Forum.

The CAG Trader Ratings Page displays the top 20 recent ratings on the left, the top 20 rated traders in the middle, as well as a "Wall Of Shame" on the right, which displays any CAG who has received a Negative trade rating and less than 6 Positives. If the person being researched is not visible on the front page, use the "Search User" field on the right-hand side of the page. The number listed on the Trader Ratings page shows the number of unique CAGs that the person has traded with, and clicking on their Trader Rating will bring up each CAG's individual ratings page, which displays all kinds of information in a format similar to eBay.

Anyone on the Wall Of Shame is someone who had at least one negative feedback left for them, and is someone that should be approached with caution. A negative feedback left for a CAG shows that there was a deal that one person thought was so problematic, other CAGs needed to know about it.

Using feedback

Before making any transaction, it is imperative to examine the CAG Trader Rating of the other person you are dealing with. Although the Trader Ratings are to be used as reference only and are not a guarantee of anything, it can be an important tool in reducing risk of problems or being scammed.

CAGs may prefer to having feedback on other sites, such as TGN, eBay, GameTZ, and other such places, though using that feedback as the sole means of judging their ability to successfully work through a deal is not recommended.

Outside feedback should be very carefully considered because if you are scammed you will not be able to note it on the outside feedback the CAGer cited to convince you to send/pay first. The user can now go on his way to other sites using his same still perfect feedback to cheat even more people. At the very least, be sure to contact the person through the other site to verify he is who he claims to be. If you are cheated, give the Moderator of that other site a heads up that someone is using their feedback to cheat users on other sites (although eBay, for example, will almost certainly not take the time to investigate).

Additionally, if unsure about a member's feedback, ask other users who have dealt with them. See how the transaction(s) panned out. If there were problems, ask for some details or specifics about the issue, to get a better handle on the situation.

Leaving feedback

  1. Access the appropriate CAG member's feedback page by clicking their feedback score, located in their profile screen. Individual feedback pages can also be accessed through the CAG Trader Ratings Page
  2. Click on the link labeled "Submit Feedback For ____".
  3. Follow the instructions on the Feedback Form.

Remember:

Feedback cannot be retracted or edited once left.

Try to resolve any disputes with the other party before publicly declaring a complaint.

Abuse of the Trader Ratings system will result in suspension / deletion of your account.
